In 1992 they married in Boston, and then Dr. Mozayeni went on to complete his medical studies at Albany Medical College (medical school & residency), Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center(internship) and University of Minnesota (cornea fellowship). Fast forward to 2018, and they now live in Charlotte, NC with 3 children; boy/girls twins and a second daughter.

2. Dr. Mozayeni has lived in Charlotte, NC for 18 years.

Dr. Reza grew up in Newburgh, NY, which is about 90 miles north of New York City on the Hudson River. After spending most of his life in New York, the Mozayeni family moved to Charlotte, NC in 2000 from Albany, NY. “I love the pace of life in Charlotte compared to many northeastern cities.”

3. He loves his short commute to work in Charlotte, NC.

“Charlotte isn’t as large as many northeastern cities which makes my commute shorter and family time longer.” Dr. Mozayeni strives for a work-life balance for himself and his employees and ensures that he is home every night for family dinner.

4. Providence Eye & Laser Specialists is 15 years old.

Dr. Mozayeni opened Providence Eye in March 2003 with his practice manager, Rey, and two ophthalmic technicians. “Those early days were very different than today. Let’s just say that I had very long lunch breaks.” He knew that he could provide a better medical outcome and overall experience if he opened his own practice. “I recognized that it was a risk, but I was confident in my skills, as a physician and a person, to deliver a better experience.”

5. First LASIK eye surgery performed at Providence Eye was on March 14, 2003.

“Barrington’s never disappoints! It was a great addition to Charlotte.”

10. Dr. Mozayeni’s favorite sunglasses brand is Maui Jim.
