Since its founding in 2003, Providence Eye & Laser Specialists has been a beacon of excellence in vision correction surgery. Dr. Reza Mozayeni established the practice with a clear mission: to combine meticulous medical care with a deeply personalized patient experience. What began as a vision has grown into one of the premier destinations for advanced vision correction procedures, such as LASIK, EVO ICL and PRK, as well as oculoplastics procedures for those who struggle with eyelid issues in the Carolinas and beyond.
From the very beginning, Providence Eye was built on the pillars of precision, innovation, and patient-centered care. Dr. Mozayeni’s extensive experience as a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained cornea specialists and his reputation for meticulous attention to detail laid the groundwork for a practice that quickly became synonymous with excellence. By investing in cutting-edge technology and fostering a compassionate, patient-first approach, Providence Eye set a new standard in vision correction surgery.
Over the years, Providence Eye has grown through the trust of tens of thousands of patients who sought freedom from glasses and contact lenses. The practice has remained at the forefront of the field by continually adopting the latest advancements in LASIK and other refractive procedures. With state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and laser technology, Providence Eye has ensured that every patient receives the most precise and effective care possible.
2003: Providence Eye & Laser Specialists opens its doors, introducing all laser LASIK with the IntraLase femtosecond laser and the VISX Star S4. But what made Providence Eye truly unique was its personalized approach to LASIK not available in the Charlotte region.
2004: The Lasik industry undergoes a significant transformation with the introduction of the Wavelight Allegretto 200 laser. Providence Eye becomes the first practice to introduce this technology to the region.
2008: The practice invests in next-generation Allegretto Eye-Q laser technology, enhancing precision and outcomes for LASIK and PRK patients.
2012: With the continued commitment to proven state-of-the-art technology Providence Eye retired the IntraLase and the VISX Star S4, and invested in the WaveLight FS200 Femtosecond Laser. 2014: We upgraded the Allegretto Eye-Q by investing in the WaveLight EX500 Excimer Laser, the fastest excimer laser on the market. This laser has since had multiple updates, and today we have the most up-to-date version available.
2015: Contoura Vision/VARIO Topography-Guided Technology is introduced and integrated with the Wavelight EX500 laser enabling us to be the first to offer this technology to the region.
2015: Providence Eye surpasses 15,000 successful vision correction procedures, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the field.
