Upon completion of Mohs surgery, many patients will want and/or need reconstruction in a timely fashion.
Dr. Valerie H. Chen is a board-certified ophthalmologist as well as certified by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), who routinely performs post-Mohs reconstruction surgery. Post-Mohs reconstruction surgery is performed to help patients feel more comfortable about their appearance after the lesion has been removed. Every individual case is unique and requires a talented surgeon with a keen eye for careful reconstruction. Dr. Chen will carefully assess your skin to determine the best course of treatment and then fully explain treatment options and steps so you are comfortable with your plan. This can be done quickly, if necessary, sometimes the same day as the Mohs removal or the following day.
