The thought of having someone perform surgery on my eyes was scary so I had planned on seeing 3 doctors for comparison. From the moment I met Dr. Mozayeni, I felt completely comfortable in the way he explained everything to me, the way he did not make me feel rushed to get to the next patient. Also, I felt that Dr. Mozayeni was not about a numbers game… to treat as many patients as possible to make money.
To the contrary, because he invested in the additional diagnostic equipment, he was able to diagnose an issue I had with my eye that led him to recommend PRK. Others without that equipment may have performed LASIK which in 5 years, would have led to complications with my eye. Therefore, due to the time Dr. Mozayeni spent with me, the money he invests in extra diagnostic equipment, the personal care he exhibits by calling me at home the night of my procedure, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Mozayeni, I would not entrust my eyes to anyone else.

I had consultations at both Providence and one of their competitors in CLT this week. Dr. Mozayeni took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, the laser, and the PRK/Lasik options, whereas the competitor took NO time to explain any of these issues, and seemed more concerned with getting a deposit. If and when I do Lasik it WILL be at Providence….much better ‘vibe’ than the other practice.

I can’t tell you how happy I am with my vision after Dr.M operated on me. I’m out riding my motorcycle today without the normal thick aviator goggles I used to have to wear. I now can ride with normal motorcycle shades. You have no idea how much of a difference this corrective surgery has made in my life! I can’t thank you enough!!!

So glad I made the decision for PRK with Prov E&L. I was expecting the quick results Lasik method but Dr M suggested PRK due to some dry eye issues. He fully explained the differences – namely the longer recovery time – but how it was the better choice in the long run for me. Since it was PRK, it took 6 weeks to see the same as I did/better than with glasses, but it was worth it. The only thing that was not as they described was the pain. They prepared me for a brief period of pain on Day 2 but – NOTHING. That was a great bonus!

Just had my Lasik done on Thursday. What a wonderful experience! Don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. You couldn’t ask for a better team! I became a patient of Dr. Mozayeni after having two very good friends tell me about their success with Providence Eye. I had struggled with contacts for years, always adjusting the prescription to get the “perfect” vision, which never happened. Being in my late forties, I couldn’t read close and my distance vision was also fading. Dr. Mozayeni was not convinced initially that I would have success, I felt that he was acting prudently in my best interest, but upon further discussion and examination he decided to proceed with his Allegretto technique. He was very informative, patient and truly interested in me—I didn’t feel like a number at all. This procedure was done almost a year ago and I am happy to tell you that I can read medicine bottles, score boards at a distance and road signs at night. It truly is amazing.

Good Morning Dr. Mozayeni,
As per our discussion yesterday herewith my Providence Eye & Laser experience:-
After 2 years of “should I or should I not have laser treatment (as I was fed up playing sport and other outdoor activities with glasses along with all the hassles”) I undertook 2 consultations with Laser providers here in Charlotte who, to my dismay, gave 2 completely different health assessments of my eye’s and what actions they would take to correct. Also I would have felt more re-assured if the Doctor’s concerned would have spent more time with me explaining the results of the tests & procedures than just the drive through feeling I was left with !!!!!
Had I made the right decision to have laser eye treatment??
After hearing Stacy Simms on our local radio station W.B.T. I decided a “ONE LAST TIME” consultation with a Laser provider and phoned Providence Eye & Laser Specialists.
“Just what I was looking for”…Warm & Friendly reception by the office staff…..Confident, communicative & friendly eye exam by the technician/assistant AND a full explanation of results and possible corrective Laser surgery BY THE DOCTOR who spent as much time with me as I had questions & wanted.
Needless to say , YES I WANTED AND FELT CONFIDENT TO HAVE THE SURGERY , 10 months later “NO Glasses” needed for my outdoor activities with 20. 15. vision and a very very happy Laser patient.
At the age of 57 playing on my lowest handicap ever I can stand on the tee with my son-in-law, who is 31 and who drives the ball 280 yards + , and who asks me after he has driven the ball, if I could see where the ball has gone and YES I CAN !!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Mozayeni – I promised to write a referral/testimonial so here it is. I do thank you for all you and your staff have done for me and thank you for relieving me of the burden of eyeglasses.
I used to have terrible vision. Well at least from my perspective that is. I hated all of the carrying around of contact cases and solution and extra lenses just in case I tore one. I am a very active person and enjoy playing many indoor and outdoor sports, but contacts were always an issue in hockey and martial arts. All it took was something to brush against my eye or for air to blow into my face and my eye would dry out and the lens would pop out. I had considered laser surgery some years before and was told I wasn’t a good candidate so I thought that I would always be tied to my glasses or contacts and would have to make the best of it. Last year I noticed an ad in the newspaper advertising free consultations at Providence Laser Eye Center. The ad touted the Doctor’s experience and level of success as well as the newest technology. I decided that I would go for the consultation, but was still skeptical of the possibilities. Upon arriving at Providence Laser Eye, I was immediately made to feel very welcome and found that my comfort and safety were their first priority. Toward the end of my consultation I was introduced to Dr. Mozayeni who came in and spent quite a bit of time with me reviewing my options for surgery and the risks and side effects associated with the various options. At no time did I feel I was being pressured or pushed to go one way or the other, nor did I feel that I was being rushed so that he could go talk to another patient. I decided on the Allegro Wavefront procedure and was scheduled to have it 2 days later.
The surgery was very quick and I experienced very little discomfort. Dr. Mozayeni described in great detail what was happening every step of the way and made sure that I was comfortable during the procedure. The biggest discomfort I had was immediately following the procedure where my eyes watered and were very uncomfortable. I went home and slept for a few hours – when I woke up I could see the TV across the room clearly – I was amazed. Dr. Mozayeni called that evening to check on me and to re-confirm my appointment for the morning. This call came from the Doctor himself, not a staff member, again stressing the level of service and care he provides. The following morning, I woke up looked across the room and could see the alarm clock, the TV, pictures on the wall, everything in very clear focus. I went to my post op visit and did the standard vision test – I read at the 20/15 plus 2 level, which meant that I could see 2 letters on the 20/10 line! Needless to say I was thrilled.
The next day my vision got clearer and clearer, the biggest side effect I had was some starbursts at night, but those faded away after a few months. During all of my post op visits I continuously tested at better than 20/15 and my final 1 year examination tested at 20/10. What a difference from a year before!
I have recommended Dr. Mozayeni to all of my friends and family and would strongly recommend him to anyone considering laser surgery. One of the major complaints I have heard from people that have had surgery at other places is that they felt like a number at the facility – just another job coming in to be done. I have to say that I never felt this way with Providence Eye and feel that anyone that is even remotely considering having this surgery done, go in for the consultation. It has been one of the best things I have done in my entire life.

Hello Dr. Mozayeni and Staff,
I hope all is well w/ you all. I was recently in for a routine follow-up exam and was talking to Dr. Mills. She was asking me what i enjoyed the most about my new vision after Lasik surgery so I told her and she thought it would be nice for you to hear as well to be used as a testimonial with your radio advertising.
What I enjoy the most about not having to wear contacts is racing my motorcycle, going through the turns. It’s when I have completed the turn and must look straight (or sometimes even the opposite direction) quickly that the difference of life after Lasik is so apparent. Before my surgery, many times with contacts, any rapid eye movement would leave my contact lens where it was and my eye would simply slip out from underneath it. Not only was it uncomfortable, but I really could not see until I could put the lens back where it belonged……., not much fun during a race!
All of this is in the past for me now and I can’t begin to tell you how much better I feel.
I believe that anyone who participates in almost any recreational activity would have a similar example to mine. In case you need actual proof of your talents, since last weekend, I have raced in 5 events and here are my results; One 2nd place finish, two 3rd place finishes, and two 4th place finishes. These results were not possible for me when I was trying to fix my contact lens while going down the straight-a-way at full speed!

I am a mid-thirties banker and triathlete. The combination of my 70+ hour work weeks and triathlon training schedule puts exceptionally heavy demands on my eyes, both of which were over -6.00 in terms of power (in other words, my vision was poor).
I wanted to explore options that would allow me to liberate my eyes from over two decades of wearing contacts and glasses. Dr. Mozayeni’s practice clearly differentiated itself through a combination of exceptionally high personal attention that was coupled with a strong sense of ensuring that my procedure represented the best near (and long) term choice for me. Unlike other “production line” practices that I had encountered, Dr. Mozayeni took painstaking measures to ensure that the proposed procedure was appropriate for me.
The end result for me is now vision that is better than 20-20. Needless to say, it was a life-changing event. Every step of the process from the front office paperwork to the post-op visits were handled with tremendous professionalism and personal attention. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner. I strongly recommend his practice, and I would not trust my eyes to anyone else.

I had been contemplating on lasic surgery for over 10 years! My vision was not good; The only letter I could see on the eye chart was the big “E”….everything else was blurry! However, in my mind, I could never justify the cost of it. I felt as if it was just a matter of convenience to NOT have to put contacts in and out of my eyes on a daily basis. It was a cost that I could never justify spending…
We’ll everything changed when I met the man of my dreams. One morning I woke up and I was going around doing my morning ritual without my contacts in. I went to let the dog out. When I turned around I saw a blur of my boyfriend on the floor. I just looked at him as if to say “what are you doing on the floor?” ….however in a wonderfully sweet voice, he asked, “will you marry me?” I was so bummed because I was just far enough away from him to where I could not see his face, his eyes, his excitement, his hands shaking…… or the ring! : )
As happy and excited as I was about the proposal, I was so bummed I missed seeing him proposing to me!
The next day I spoke to a friend who referred me to Providence Eye and Laser Specialists. She was from the Charlotte area and had learned from a friend of her in the equipment business that Dr. Mozayeni had the most innovative technology and best service. I called and made an appointment the next day. They were wonderful!
I will never forget opening my eyes just a few hours after surgery and seeing everything so clearly! Being the girl who had worn glasses or contacts since the 2nd grade, it was absolutely amazing! It has now been 1 year since my surgery and I have never looked back. I sooo wish I did this years ago! Not only would I have saved a lot of money on contacts, saline solution, glasses etc……I would have been able to see my now husband propose to me!

Thank you to Dr. M and the entire staff at Providence Eye & Laser Specialists. I shopped around Charlotte on where to have my LASIK surgery done. As the procedure becomes more commonplace, almost commoditized, the last thing I wanted was a place that treats me like I am on an assembly line and simply a number. You do not operate that way.
Why LASIK surgery matures, flavors of the types of surgery are more prevalent. As a result, talking with an industry knowledgeable and staff who is going to perform the surgery on the only set of eye I will every have is more important than ever to ensure. I made the right decision. Moreover, the staff helped guide me to financial solutions I did not realize I had access to through my own work benefits plan to help defray the cost of the surgery. They were also flexible around my appointment scheduling.

Please accept this thank you for changing my son’s life. Grant had eye Intra-LASIK this past December. He had worn glasses since he was 3 year old. I will never forget as long as I live, the moment he walked out of your office after surgery. Grant burst out laughing exclaiming that he could see the grill on the cars down in the parking lot. I am so glad I waited for my Lasik eye surgery until I found Dr. Mozayeni. I went to other doctors and researched the procedure for a few years and even went for two or three of the free evaluations and never felt comfortable. I used to work in the medical field and they all told me where not to go and then I heard about Providence Eye and Laser Specialists mentioned on the Bob & Sherri Show and looked him on the web. I couldn’t find anything bad or negative about him or his practice, nothing not one thing anywhere.
So I went and had my free eye exam and it was a lot different and more in depth than the others I had before.
I felt so confident at his office I booked my surgery and had it done. It was the best thing I did for myself in years.
Dr. Mozayeni is not like most of these Lasik places out there either. He just didn’t take a course and lease the machine for foot traffic and boost the bottom line. He is not and never will be a Lasik Factory. He is a cornea specialist and a top doc of 2008. It was fellow doctors in his field who gave him this honor, not how many votes he got in some newspaper.
He has articles published with the American Journal of Ophthalmology on refractive surgery, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Cornea World, Innovations Report and by informa world. His articles are to give all eye surgeons the benefit of his experience and not just patients. He is trying to teach the world how to perform Lasik surgery better and with fewer complications for the patient and the doctor. If you can go to the doctor’s doctor why wouldn’t you?
To Dr. Mozayeni it’s not about the numbers, it is about the outcome. He has a genuine concern for each patient as an individual. He understands that our eyes are as unique as we are and no two are alike.
Providence Eye and Laser Specialist helped my daughter as well. Her old highly recommended eye doctor did nothing for her vision at the yearly eye exam. Just run of the mill in/out and over. They knew she had some issues with her vision but told me not to worry. When we went to Providence Eye and Laser Specialist (cause no I am hooked), for her regular eye exam, everything changed for her. This was the most innovative and comprehensive eye exam she had ever received. She went from the earlier undiagnosed legal blindness, to seeing what she has been missing for years with her new glasses the other doctor failed to give her. For the first time ever a doctor listened to her as an individual and asked her questions about her sight, strain, headaches and squinting. Let’s face it, trust is the big issue with kids and when you can get a teenager trust you and look forward to your help that says it all.
My vision is now better than birth. I use to never drive at night, especially when it was raining and now that is no longer an issue for me. I love just jumping in the pool with the kids and not have to worry about contacts. I no longer have the expense of Prescription sunglasses either. I don’t have to deal with the hassle of eye glasses or the fees that go up every year to just get glasses. I’m done, done, done.

Since the 3rd grade, I had to wear glasses or contacts to function on a daily basis. I constantly had issues with my contacts and glasses got in the way when I played sports.
My vision was 20/400!
In Nov. 2007, Dr. Mozayeni performed PRK (Laser vision correction) surgery on both eyes and it was deemed a success. I guess I didn’t really realize how much of a success until I recently took a trip to Disney World. For the first time in 42 years, I was able to see the beauty of the parks without the use of glasses or contacts. It was amazing!
Please don’t let any apprehension toward PRK (Laser Vision Correction) surgery keep you from having the surgery. It is well worth the financial and physical investment and you’ll reap the benefits for years to come.
I just had my one year follow up appointment and my vision is now 20/15.

I had discussed LASIK surgery with the ophthalmologist in that office. A friend of mine referred me to you for a second opinion. Turns out, my prescription had been wrong for several years. Dr. Mills gave me a complete exam, treated an infection I had acquired from extensive contact lens use, and changed my prescription. It was like a whole new world – suddenly I could see clearly – and that was BEFORE my LASIK.
Once Dr. Mills straightened out my prescription, Dr. Mozayeni used the Alegretto laser and completely fixed my vision. I am thrilled with the results. Honestly, I would have been happy with the new prescription alone, but the fact that I no longer have to wear contacts and run the risk of infection is such an added bonus.
I would truly recommend the medical professionals at Providence Eye & Laser Specialists to anyone. They truly changed my life!

After 2 other consultations, I was ready to move ahead with the green light I had been given. After the most thorough evaluation, you detected some issues with my tear production and health of my cornea and ultimately turned me down – for now. I can’t express to you what that meant to me.
